It’s worth getting it ceeckhd. The tests are easy enough and the solution is perfectly workable (a CPAP machine to support breathing while asleep) not fun but no real hardship. Sleep apnoea puts a massive strain on the heart and ruins a person’s quality of life (tiredness, moodiness, lack of energy, memory problems, reduced libido) so no one should put up with it. I don’t know of any connection with acid reflux except that both are common among people carrying a few more pounds than their ideal body weight.

Actually it is not uncommon for patients to have some chest pains after having an intervention like your brothers! They usually turn out to be benign, but if they are truly like the pains he had with his heart attack, the only safe thing to do is be seen and evaluated! Its often hard to tell whether such symptoms are important, or that the patient is just more aware of anything going on in his chest because now he knows that he really CAN have a heart attack! One thing that is almost always true: Pain that lasts hours, unless its another heart attack is almost certainly not from the heart! So to me it sounds like your bros symptoms are not heart-related, but this is obviously a guess at best! By the way, he really should have been given nitroglycerin, as most heart pains get better within a minute or two of using one (and therefore are helpful in diagnosing whether the symptoms are from the heart, and therefore something to worry about)! The long-acting NTG pills are not very useful (but dont hurt, either)!

It however may also be a symptom of ischemic heart disease, though this is true for only In this condition acid reflux has led to inflammation of the esophagus.
