Where does the period blood come from?

When a woman has her menses (period) the endometrial lining of the uterus and some associated blood is shed! ! Any Suggestions here?

    The hymen does not cover the whole of the opening to the vagina! It is like a bridge I guess from one side to the other! Look up the female reproductive system and find a diagram, it will be easier to see where things are! And the blood comes from the lining of the uterus not the cervix! It passes through the cervix!
