Hepatitis C is spread through contact with blood or contaminated needles, including tattoo needles and blood transfusions! Chronic hepatitis C often leads to liver cancer! Your chances of being contaminated to the point of you getting it is very small, but to be on the safe side, its an easy blood test and to put your mind at ease, you should get it done! It is common for nurses to pick up various diseases and sanitation is the most important thing you can learn! My sister is a degreed registered nurse and picked up pericarditis in the hospital that put her down for a while, but she is back to work, no problems!good luck to you
