This infection is probably localized in your vagina or reproductive tract! If you show signs of fever or flu-like symptoms I would be worried that he infection has spread to your blood stream!!!if this happens you should go to the emergency room right away! It is very good that you went to your doctor for this problem so that you can be treated before you develop long-term complications related to the infection!
