How often are the Pararescue jumpers used and what is their fatality rate?
The data is available, but you have to search for specific types of data! You cant make a direct comparison between civilian industries and the military until you realize that a coal miners death, outside of work, is not considered an industrial accident! But a servicemans death is always a military casualty, 24 hours a day, even off duty or on leave! For example, a coal miner that falls off his Grandmas roof putting up her Christmas lights is not reported as a mining industry accident! A Soldier doing the same thing is still a death in the service! So you have to search for specific data like combat related deaths, in theater non-combat related deaths, private motor vehicle fatalities, off duty recreational activity deaths!
death rate n. The ratio of total deaths to total population in a specified community or area over a specified period of time.
